Kimi
Kimi is the Office Manager of Hawaii Orthodontist with over 10 years experience as an orthodontic assistant. Seeing the transformation of our patient's smile is her passion and providing exceptional customer service is her specialty. Kimi's favorite part of her job is the daily interactions with patients and their families as well as building friendly relationships with patients who have become like family over the course of their treatment. You may see her in the front office greeting patients and assisting families navigate their orthodontic journey or catch her in the clinic assisting the Doctors chair side with patients.
During the weekend you can find Kimi at the beach building sand castles with her children or at the park chasing them on the playground!
Violet
Violet is our treatment coordinator. She presents orthodontic treatment diagnoses, recommendations, and finances to patients or parents. She also helps new patients file insurance claims, answers phone calls, and schedules follow-up visits for patients. Violet’s favorite part of her job is seeing the patients’ faces once treatment has been completed.
Outside the office, Violet is married and is a mother to a fun-loving son. Her hobbies include playing tennis and going shopping with friends.
Evan
Evan is our scheduling coordinator, he will help schedule your appointments and will be the friendly face at the front desk to greet you with a smile. Evan enjoys swing dancing and going on long walks.
Armi
Armi is our orthodontic assistant and assists doctors in all orthodontic procedures. Armi enjoys being able to watch patients grow and gain confidence as their smiles improve. Working with both doctors is a great experience for Armi because they take the time to listen to patients’ concerns, and make sure they do everything possible to make them feel comfortable and at ease.
In her spare time, Armi spends her time with her family, which is very important to her.
Michelle
Michelle is our orthodontic assistant and assists with orthodontic procedures, processes X-rays, and builds relationships with her patients. Her favorite part of her job is working with patients and seeing the emergence of their beautiful smiles. Working with Dr. Chang-Motooka, Dr. Kawamoto and Dr. Nakatani has been a great experience for Michelle because both doctors are very good at what they do and love doing it.
In her personal life, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and is an amateur foodie.
Shula
Shula is our orthodontic assistant. Shula has been a loyal member of our team since 2004, and feels rewarded when patients are proud of their smile after treatment. She enjoys working with the doctors because she admires their insight and willingness to teach and explain various procedures.
Outside of work, Shula and her husband are involved in bible education work with specific interest in the Vietnamese community. She also likes to cook and bake using the Food Network’s recipes.
Kiani
Kiani is our orthodontic assistant and assists our wonderful Dr's with patients, her duties include sterilization, assisting Dr with patients and provide excellent professional care to all.
On her free time, Kiani loves to dance hula, go to the beach and hang out with friends and family. She has been dancing hula for 15 years and also competed in the Merrie Monarch!
Brittney
Brittney is our orthodontic assistant and works along side with Dr. Chang-Motooka, Dr. Kawamoto and Dr. Nakatani.
Brittney loves to spend time with her kids, bake, hike and to shop. Shes adventrous and loves to make others laugh. She also eats Natto every single day!
Vena
Vena is our New Patient Coordinator and orthodontic assistant. Her duties include welcoming new patients, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout patient appointments, performing dental exams with doctors, taking photos and impressions for study models and X-rays, and creating patient folders. Her favorite part of her job is having the opportunity to be part of a great and talented team of doctors and coworkers.
In her personal life, Vena has two children and loves spending time with them. She also enjoys learning how to make feather leis with her mom and daughter.
Tevie
Tevie is our orthodontic lab technician who fabricates most of the orthodontic appliances for the practice. What she enjoys most about her job is trying to exceed both doctors’ expectations in appliance fabrication and prompt delivery of the appliances. In addition, Tev enjoys the new innovations in the orthodontic field, and admires the doctors for their willingness and ability to adapt.
In her spare time, Tev likes to cook and take on new projects.
Josie
I enjoy being able to assist 3 knowledgeable doctors to help improve our patient's lives. It is a pleasure to be a part of our patient's growth throughout their orthodontic journey. I love that I don't only come here to work but also because i love what i do.
Outside of work, I love going to yoga and spending time with loved ones.
